Library Services

Circulation

There are currently nearly 19,000 materials in our collection. These materials include fiction and nonfiction books for all reading levels, periodicals, audio books, and videos. The collection is constantly being upgraded through donations and a monthly purchase of new fiction and nonfiction. Patrons are welcome to check availability of items and reserve items by email, phone, or through our Online Catalog.

Library card holders may check out up to 15 materials at a time, with lending periods of 2-4 weeks, depending on the type of material. There is a one-time fee of $5 for a library card. Please bring an ID with proof of address when you apply. By requesting a library card, patrons agree to abide by our Patron Code of Conduct.

Meeting Room

The Library meeting room is used for many of the Library's public events, including arts, cultural, and educational events, book clubs, tax preparation assistance, our large annual book sale, and our ongoing "Cozy Corner Bookstore."

The meeting room is also available for use by other organizations and can be reserved by contacting the Library. Use of the library is free of charge for non-profit organizations.

Interlibrary Loan

As a result of an agreement with the Kitchigami Regional Library System, patrons who have a valid Kitchigami Library Card may request books from that system and have them delivered to the Pequot Lakes Community Library for convenient pick up and drop off.

Kitchigami Library Cards may be obtained from any library in the system. More information on those libraries can be found on the Kitchigami website.

Books and other materials may be ordered through the Kitchigami Online Catalog.

Computers and Internet

The library has six computers available for patron use. In addition to internet access, the computers have the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Publisher). Patrons may not save their private files on these computers, but files can be emailed or saved on USB flash drives. Before using the computers, patrons are required to sign an agreement to abide by the Library's Computer and Internet Public Use Policy.

The library also provides free wireless internet access for laptops and mobile devices. Printing (in black and white) from laptops or the library's computers is available at the cost of 25 cents per page.
